§810.70. Refuse Disposal

  • a)         General.  Youth camps shall be kept free of litter, accumulations of rubbish and garbage, glass, cans, objects with protruding nails, paper, rags, wood scraps, abandoned vehicles, and abandoned or discarded equipment.

     

    b)         Containers.

     

    1)         All refuse, which includes garbage, rubbish, bottles, and cans stored within a youth camp for more than 24 hours shall be kept in watertight, fly-proof, rodent-proof metal or durable plastic containers. Refuse that is stored less than 24 hours shall be placed in sealed plastic bags which shall be collected daily and placed in refuse containers or disposed of at a solid waste site operated in compliance with the Environmental Protection Act.  All refuse shall be protected from insects and rodents.

     

    2)         Refuse containers shall be located within 250 feet of each camping site, picnic site, or food service establishment within a youth camp.

     

    c)         Collection.  All refuse stored within a youth camp shall be collected at least once each week for disposal at a solid waste disposal site operated in compliance with the Environmental Protection Act.
