§750.486. Engineering Methods for On-Site Actions - Treatment Technologies - Contaminated Soils and Sediments

In some cases where it can be shown to be cost-effective, contaminated sediments and soils will be treated on the site. Technologies available include:

 

a)         Incineration;

 

b)         Wet air oxidation;

 

c)         Solidification;

 

d)         Encapsulation;

 

e)         In situ treatment:

 

1)         Solution mining, (soil washing or soil flushing);

 

2)         Neutralization/detoxification;

 

3)         Microbiological degradation.
